Samsung makes cheap smartphones with metal casing

According to GSM Arena, Galaxy M20 is the new smartphone code name that Samsung can launch next time. The device has the design as well as other features many of the current cheap products of the Korean brand. Some images of products have spread on the Internet.

Instead of the plastic casing like Galaxy J3 or J4, Galaxy M20 is given a solid metal case with a fingerprint sensor placed on the back, instead of lying in front or next to the border. The rear has a vertical dual-camera camera set, promising to bring portrait photography features to remove fonts. Even this model uses USB-C port as on Samsung's high-end smartphone, does not use standard micro USB anymore.

Galaxy M20 is expected to debut in the Indian market for about $200.

Seems nice, but why would you choose for a metal casing? Does it provide better protection from falling, or heating, or... Well, pretty much everything, but in that case wouldn't it make the phone a bit too heavy?
Also, this might cause a slight bit of trouble for the X-ray screeners in airports, depending on how thick the metal is.
