- Android: Normally, the phone does not allow the user to delete the system default ringtone. Only root can deeply interfere with the system and delete the original ringtone, maybe after rooting you mistakenly click to delete system data, or use third-party deep interference applications. A less common cause is the phone running out of space, leading to system services malfunctioning and losing default ringtones.

- iPhone: On iPhone, the default ringtone disappearing can happen after the user resets the device.

1. How to restore deleted default ringtones on Android phones
Restart the machine
If the error of the ringtone being deleted is not due to subjective reasons of the user, then restarting the device is the first thing you should do. On most Android devices, press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds, then select Restart.

Reset settings
Resetting the settings restores the original system settings, including ringtone settings.

Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & Reset > Erase Settings.

(*) Personal data and settings of apps (not system apps) will not be affected.

Restore factory settings
Note: all current data will be deleted, users should back up the device before resetting the device.

2. How to Restore Deleted Default Ringtones on iPhone
iPhone users can restore their default ringtones on iTunes.

Go to Safari > Go to LINK > Sign in to Apple ID > Restore.

Then, press Done > Select Download on the message that appears.

Note: If the device is not eligible, the message "Your tones were not affected". To restore, you can use another device and do the above operations again.
