Thank you @Chris Crocker for your post, this is great information. I just want to add some information about fast charging. Smartphone batteries charge when a current passes through them. Greater current and higher voltages charge batteries faster, but there’s a limit to what they can take. The charge controller (IC) protects against dangerous spikes in current.

Now in order for the smartphones battery to handle high current voltage and ampere, they developed a much higher battery tolerance in both voltage and ampere. So that, the lower the percentage of your battery the faster it charge because of the high tolerance the battery can consume the charging rate in a faster phase. One factor also is cable wire, simply because this is where the current travel. But there is also a term called resistance, the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit. Which means if your cable is high on resistance the slower the current or charging. What is the solution? a low resistance high current cable which is the USB C-PD also mentioned by @Chris Crocker at his post.

Now see the USB 3.1 the max power is up to 100W and that's what you call power! Let me warn you about using high speed chargers and cables. Always first check your smartphones specification before buying these fast charging accessories. If your smartphones specifies that it can only charge at 5w max power, just use the USB3.0 chargers. Its safer....
