What is jailbreaking on an iPhone?

I head this term so many times.

''Jaillbreaking''.

What does it do, what does it mean ? Is someone willing to guide me ?

I think it has to do something with like getting into the system and changing some things, but besides that, I have no idea.

Can someone explain it to me ?

It's like the iOS counterpart of Android's rooting. If you jailbreak a phone, you'll have more rights and control on your operating system. You are no longer restricted from installing 3rd party applications and mods for your device.

This isn't only limited to iOS because it can also be done to gaming consoles.

I don't know if it will void the warranty if you jailbreak your phone. You can reverse the jailbreak but I don't know if technicians can detect traces of the phone being jailbroken.

You should try it if you want to modify your iOS device to your liking. There are different guides out there for different versions of iOS devices. The latest iOS versions are usually not yet able to be jailbroken.

I got some useful informations.
I never did it myself neither bother too much to check out what is jailbreaking but as you guys said, basically a tool for developers.
I am sure warranty will be pulled off in that case so I will try to keep it neat as possible if I decide to do something myself.

It will definitely void the warranty since you are doing it yourself.
I do not recommend doing that if you are not an expert.
Any reasonable provider would say ''bye bye'' to the warranty since you are trying to do something that is not necessary and your phone is not made for that at first place.
