I just received a Moto X Pure Edition and, as an Android user, I'll only be satisfied when it will be rooted.

Here is how I did, first some prerequisites :
- Download the Motorola Device Manager HERE. You need it for your phone to be recognized by your PC.
- Unlock your Bootloader by following the directions HERE
- Download fastboot HERE and CF Auto root HERE
- Extract CF Auto Root in the same directory where you put fastboot.
- In the developer parameters, activate "USB Debugging". (If you don't have the developer parameters, go to "About" in the parameters and touch 5 times the "Kernel Version")
Now for the few steps to root the phone :
- Shut down your Moto X and turn it on while holding the power button and the Volume - button. Your phone should turn in the fastboot mode.
- Plug your phone to your PC and launch root-windows.bat from the fastboot directory.
Just wait a bit and... tada ! Your Moto X Pure Edition is rooted !
