A decade ago Sony Ericsson Smart Phones where one of the best. Offering Carl Zeiss Lens Sony phones where sought after by both photographers and smartphone users.

I bought 2 Experia's for my kids a year ago, a M4 Aqua and a C5 Ultra. It was my Christmas gift for them. I thought the cameras where good and sadly I was wrong.

The M4 Aqua which suppose to have a 13mp/5mp cam in reality has the output of an 8mp and the C5 Ultra which has a 13mp/13mp cam produces a slightly better output. Both Experia models is no match in terms of quality and clarity when compared to a Samsung Phone with the same specs.

My kids where so disappointed
with the camera quality they wanted to have the phones replaced. Another disappointment is the Internal Memory of the Experia's which was eaten up by useless factory installed apps. That's why as a result my kids must limit their downloads to a bare minimum.

I bought the Aqua for $200 and the C5 for $300 and I just wished I bought Samsung or even Huawei phones instead.

Are you sure that the phone isn't damaged or has any sort of malfunctioning? I've had great experience with Xperia series, literally have nothing bad to say against them. Maybe it's the settings thing, give that a go, maybe the camera quality isn't set to highest. Also be glad that you didn't buy Huawei, i don't know a single person who had good experience with it. :D

yes i also agree with elguapo96 because i am also a sony experia user and i am very satistied with my smartphone right now. Sony expreria all series have a better quality of photos that it produces than other mobile phones. Try to adjust the settings on your camera section. For me when it comes to camera, sony experia is the best as they are known to have a greater mega pixel camera as compared to other mobile phones.

What went wrong with Sony Experia is that they fail to constantly innovate, while other phone manufacturer spend a huge amount of money in their (R and D)Research and Development for there products. They did not stop improving they constantly in search of meeting demand of their customer, that will include new features of their phone their camera fixel dramatically improve. They also aggressive in their marketing campaign by cutting the price of their phone making there phone competitive, while Sony Experia remain the same and little bit expensive.

One of the best quality of Xperia phones is their camera and screen display. I personally used my Xperia z5 Compact up until now and I'm still satisfied with the experience. I also know that the M4 Aqua and the C5 Ultra are great phones back then comparing to other phones, but I never really tried those yet.
I guess it's always better to buy the flagship phones, like my Z5 Compact, as they will always give you the best experience, regardless of the brand.
I think the only problem with Xperia phones right now is their screen bezels. Almost all of the brands now have full-screen display except Sony Phones.
