How to find the model number and OS version on a BlackBerry smartphone?

I have a chance to experience BlackBerry smartphone from a friend who is using BlackBerry but when I want to know which the model number of OS version of that BlackBerry then I don't know how to check that. My friend didn't tell me information about it. I am impressed by that smartphone. Can you guys here tell me how to find the model number and OS version on a BlackBerry smartphone?
