How to change your iPhone or iPad passcode from 6 to 4 digits

Starting from iOS 9, Apple has changed a lot on iOS to make the platform more secure. It includes a 4-digit to 6-digit passcode conversion, which increases the security of unlocking the iPhone/iPad. However, there is a division of users want to use 4-digit passcode to unlock the iPhone/iPad screen faster and more convenient.
If you want to convert from 6-digit passcode to 4-digit passcode, follow the steps below:

Step 1: First, from the lock screen you go to Settings> Touch ID & Passcode. Please enter your current 6-digit Passcode.

Note: On iPhone X will be Settings> Face ID & Passcode

Step 2: Select Change Passcode, then enter the password again 6 digits.

Step 3: The new password entry screen appears, select Passcode Options located just above the keyboard. Then choose Face ID & Passcode.

Step 4: Now enter your 4-digit password and enter another time to confirm. Your iPhone / iPad device will take a few seconds to change your password. Now you wait a bit to change successfully, then lock the iPhone and open again to test.
Now you can use a 4-digit password for your device. Note that the 4-digit password is always less secure than the default 6-digit Apple password suggested and that should also be considered before converting to a 4-digit password.
