Lately, Google chrome on my Samsung s5 is crashing like crazy.

I do not have a lot of RAM in use and I do not run apps in background.

I tried restarting it all over again but, sometimes, it still happens.

Did I got a virus or something ?

I think its not on your ram, its probably a software issue. If this symptom started after an upgrade, it might be on the software side. Some software notifies a user that there is a new version available, but it doesn't tell if your device is compatible with it.
You can try uninstalling updates and return it to the previous version.. if its a pre-installed Chrome.

You can check if its a software issue if you open another brand of browser. Most Samsung phones have a default browser "Samsung internet". Try using it... if the browser run smoothly, its definitely not on the RAM side.

I hope this helps:coffee:!

Well, I was left confused since I do not know what to do.I guess I will give it to a technician to check it out.
I will check how it works with default browser and follow up with you.
Thank you.

I agree with this point, according to me, to fix this problem, you need to upgrade your Google chrome to latest version and check if you still get same problem or not. If not, then it can cause by the compatibly between your device and Google version.

Try installing an antivirus that can fit your device.
Or maybe your phone has an inbuilt mistake.
Also, you might want to change the browsing system and see will it help.

Got any recommendations for antivirus apps?
Because I keep finding ones that are only a 30-day trial, not working properly, or not free at all.
Which one do most people use?

Have you tried Kaspersky free version for Android?
You can search it on Google play and see how it works. I think it will be effective for your smartphone.

No I haven't. I just googled it and it looks professional, but so do other antivirus apps. But if you recommend it, I'll definetly take a look at it.

Now you said that there's a free version, is it free forever with limits? With limits, I mean like only a maximum amount of scans weekly or monthly. Or is it just a free 30 day trial that locks the app once the days have passed? Because I already know that those apps are usually terrible. They say they scanned my pc and everything's fine, when nothing really got fixed. I mean, when I was about to dump my old laptop, I installed some apps from which I knew they had a Trojan horse or something. Tried 10 different apps and half of them didn't even detect it, and the other half that did find it didn't do jack about it, not even a quaranteen.

The first thing you need to do is to go to the google settings -> history -> clear browsing data including autofill and saved passwords.

If this does not work you can try the procedure below:

What to do when GOOGLE CHORME crashed?

Step 1: Check your internet connection
Make sure your computer's connected to Wi-Fi or a wired network.
Try reloading the tab with the error.

Step 2: Clear your cache
Chrome might have information stored that's stopping the page from loading.
Open the page in an Incognito window
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More New Incognito window.
In the Incognito window, try opening the page. If it opens, clear your cache and cookies.
Clear your cache and cookies
At the top right, click More More tools Clear browsing data.
At the top, select All time.
Select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data. Deselect the other types of data.
Click Clear data.
Try reloading the tab with the error.

Step 3: Close other tabs, extensions, & apps
Your device may have run out of memory, and can't load the site while also running your apps, extensions, and programs.
Free up memory:
Close every tab except for the one that’s showing the error message.
Quit other apps or programs that are running, and pause any app or file downloads.
Uninstall unnecessary extensions from Chrome. At the top right, click More More tools Extensions. On extensions you don't use, click Remove.
Try reloading the tab with the error.
Still not working?

Step 4: Restart your computer

Step 5: Update Chrome
Step 6: Check for unwanted software

I had experienced this personally and it works for me. Hope it helps you too.

I have been using my chrome browser on my android for a while and I have never had any issues with it. I would suggest that you check your browser settings and then you can scan all the applications on your phone just to see if there's any virus on your phone. Also, it could be that you need to upgrade to the newer versions.

I think it was infected by virus, did you try to clean your phone using cleaner application? and try to check also your phone memory or RAM, and try to install some anti virus or have you try to update your phone? if the problem persist try to uninstall the google chrome or update it.
