Battery is a very important component for laptop, it helps your laptop can move and use in many places. In this article I will guide you to check the level of laptop batteries without having to install any other software.

Step 1: Press Windows + R key to open the Run window. Then enter cmd and select OK.

Step 2: Enter the powercfg / batteryreport command and press Enter.

Step 3: You access your User folder to read the battery status report file by the following: Open My Computer or This PC >> C drive >> Users >> Administrator.

Step 4: You drag down the bottom will have a file in the form of battery-report.html, Click the left mouse button to open up your browser.

There is a lot of information about your computer. Just check the Installed batteries section for battery information.

Design Capacity: The initial capacity of the battery is newly shipped.
Full Charge Capacity: Its actual "energy" capacity.
You can use the following formula to check your laptop battery status.
100 - (Full Charge Capacity / Design Capacity) * 100.
Example: 100 - (32234/41440) * 100 = 22.21%.
The higher the number, the lower the performance of your laptop battery.

My tutorial is finished. Wish you to check the success rate of laptop battery.

Thanks for the tutorial! I found out that my battery wear is already at 24%. It seems it aged well considering I've had the laptop for over 4 years. :)

No problem, I am glad I helped.
Of course, everything can get rusty over time, especially technology so you might want to consider buying new battery or maybe change your laptop ?
Did you had any plans on doing that or you would like to go with that one as much as possible ?
I feel you since I, too, have pretty outdated laptop.

Nice guide, but I think you should've added that this is how you do it for Windows computers. I can't stress enough about the fact that I'm looking for solutions on Windows, and while reading realizing that it's a guide for Mac devices.

Next time, you could add this to the title, like so:
(WIN) Check for laptop battery life without software
That way, Mac users know they won't need to open the link.
